Tis the night before opening day!

Tis the night before opening day, when all throught the house
the archers are stirring, preparing for the first day.

The camo was set out with care,
in preperation for a new season that would soon be here.
The arrows were nestled all snug in the quiver.

Visions of past hunts played in their heads;
wives teased their husbands, as they prepared for the season.

I prepared for the night and lay down for what was sure to be a short nap.

When out of the night I heard the sound of the alarm,
I sprang from my bed to prepare for the morning.

To the garage I flew like a flash,
eating my breakfast and putting on some more camo.

The moon showed bright as I took to my tree,
all painted in colors of autumn.

I breathed in deep to take in the smells of this cool fall morning.
I think it was the snort from this deep breath that awakened me from my dream,
I turned to my clock and it only read 1:47
Ah, still three more long hours before I leave for my tree.

Don't eat the fabric softner

So I have been following this pregnancy site that updates you every week to what stage the baby is at. Like what is currently developing, the size and weight, and that sort of stuff. It also has a "what's happening to your body" section for the woman. Here is this weeks:
Occasionally, women crave nonfoods such as chalk or laundry detergent; if you find yourself having these feelings, call your health-care professional, who can suggest healthy alternatives.
What kind of healthy alternatives are there for chalk and laundry detergent? I don't think I have ever tasted anything like Tide's 'Meadow and Rain Scent'. So I guess if I see Natasha eying the street chalk or fabric softner I need to call the doctor, so they can suggest a healthy alternative...do people really call their doctors with these sort of questions? No wonder our health care costs are climbing out of control. I am picturing someone sitting next to their 1 - 800 phone with a flip chart that tells them to turn to page 56 for five healthy alternatives to Bounce's April Spring Fresh fabric softner sheets.

Morning sickness

I already hate morning sickness. Not mine...my wife's.

Yesterday was a long day. We got home late last night still wide awake from hanging out with friends from church. So after unwinding a bit, I got ready for bed and finally crawled into bed around 12 am knowing that 5 am would come quickly. Unfortunately 1:30 then 2:00 and then 2:45 and 3:15 came much quicker as Natasha was sick during the night.

So the condition of my heart today is: tired

Ode to my blog

Oh my blog how I have missed you.
I have had no time for you in a week.
Things have been so hectic and busy.
I promise I will return to you, but I need to get some other things done.

Weather

I love this time of year. I love being able to go to bed with the windows open and then waking up to the coolness of the morning. I love getting to work and wishing I had worn a sweatshirt. The geese are flying preparing for a trip south. This morning there was a beautiful hazy fog hanging over the pond outside my office window.

Missing

We left the house for 10 minutes. Just to return a movie. Not much time for two beagles to get in trouble...you would think. Well the hamburg buns I set out on the counter, the center of the counter, to defrost were missing when we returned. Just an empty bag on the kitchen floor and two beagles pretending they were sleeping on the couch...hoping I wouldn't notice the missing hamburg buns.
